To explain more in details.

We undertook a cognitive experiment where participants performed a similar task (with different stimuli) in two conditions: one condition used as control condition and one where we did a manipulation check.

In one article we will discuss the impact of the manipulation check on performance by comparing performance (and other variables) between the two conditions.

However, I am also interested to analyse possible predictors of the cognitive performance during the control condition (totally different analyses and research hypotheses).

The issue is that participants have been randomised in which condition they undertook first (either (i) manipulation check first and control second or (ii) control first and manipulation check second). However, if the type of the task is the same (memory task, same instructions), it is not a test-re-test as the stimuli are different.

Thus, do you think it is possible to do an article about one condition while half participants did it first and half did it in second (different stimuli)?

If yes, do you have any example of similar article?

Thanks so much

Eva
