In an attention blink experiment, 7 lags were used. It was found that there was significantly low detection of second target compared to single task at 1st, 2nd and 7th lag. The detection of T2 was same at all other lags.

But it was also found that the detection of T2 was significantly impaired at lag 1 even when subjects were asked to ignore target 1 in single task or control condition.

To my knowledge, it is assumed that the detection of T2 will not vary with lags in single/control task in AB experiments, is it valid to attribute the impairment in T2 detection in double task to attentional blink effect?
