Hi researchers
As we know, urine is sterile, and S. epidermis normal flora of the skin.
Is this bacteria has the ability to cause urinary tract infection?
May be in special cases
Thank you Aalae Salman Ayit
Can you explain more please?
such as in catheters patients
Good discussion
Yes it can cause UTI
First of all, urine is not sterile, and yes we can find Staphylococcus epidermidis in urine, and it can cause an infection.
Yes it does, Staphyhylococcus epidermidis is the causative organism of UTI in children with underlying urinary tract abnormalities.
