If you cite your own works in a new article OR forgot to do so, hence, a self - plagiarism. But, if you quote results/findings of others in the same field and don`t cite the source intentionally, then this is a "professional" plagiarism. One should know draw a clear line between both types of plagiarism, what else shall the sentence be other than reject paper for publication? Are both plagiarism types a sort of "academic dishonesty"?
