Maconellicoccus hirsutus infests Tectoma trees and it's control is difficult. I would like to know if there is any insecticide that could be used with root uptaking to control this pest in this tree.
No sir. The root feeding will no be so effective for translocation of toxicants. besides mealy bugs are not active sap feeders unlike leafhoppers, mites etc. Thus sufficient translamination will not be achieved.
Do not think about insecticides.Release Cryptolaemus montrouzieri to take care of the M. hirsutus population which we are recommending in mulberry cultivation.
We are releasing Cryptolaemus montrouzieri, but we are thinking in applying neem by root uptaking to increase control efficiency of Maconellicoccus hirsutus.
