My RG score dropped like a rock (or slightly less dramatically) at the end of a week in which I added 3 research items. This certainly was a much higher contribution than my own average or an average for a typical RG user. I wrote to the RG team and the answer was something to the effect: the score is comparative, so others on the average must have outperformed. I learned from a Wikipedia post that RG score algorithm is kept secret but any clues? Is RG score more than simple mathematics? Is it staggerered, meaning the change in score reflects my inactivity in an earlier Week? Is there some sort of psychological element to it to keep users motivated? Or perhaps purely a chance occurrence that everyone had a much productive week. Your thoughts!
