I have around 100micrograms of whale faeces. The sample is positive for Giardia and Balantidium coli and I need to do phylogenetic analyses for both parasites. For Giardia, I can use the QIAamp DNA stool kit as it is already published in the literature. But for Balantidium coli, literature mentions other methods. Since I have very little amount of sample, I was wondering if anybody knows if I could also use the QIAamp DNA stool kit for Balanditium DNA purification as well.
