I am using multilayer graphene powder in my experiment. I want to know its wetting behaviour. Is it superhydrophobic, hydrophobic or hydrophilic?
how to measure its contact angle? If I spread it on substrate, the substrate will influence its Contact angle. I dont want that substrate influence it.
Grafen retains the properties of the wettability of the surface on which is located. When applied to the surface of the superhydrophobic and supergidrophilic effect of "transparency" of the surface properties of the flat carbon disappears. Technically speaking, monolayer, free standing, defect free graphene should show super hydrophobic properties.. graphite (one form of MLG) is hydrophobic..
There are many papers on wetting behavior of graphene and most of them are controversial, infact some are bull published in journals like Adv Mat.. Not many studies report effect of substrate.. one notable exception is DOI: 10.1039/C5NR06705G or DOI: 10.1021/nl304647t..
