Currently, I am using AAS and ICP for metal analysis. Sometime back, I worked on MP-AES, which is a new technique for metal analysis. I got the same results which I got from AAS and ICP. No doubt, ICP is better than both the instruments. But there is very few information about this technique and its reliability.
If anyone is using MP-AES, please suggest which one is better, AAS or MP-AES.
As far as I know, MP-AES is better than AAS (detection limits, reliabilty). However, charasteristics of ICP-AES is better than MP-AES. The main advantage of MP-AES is the economy (you don't need pure argon, just nitrogen for polychromator purdge). What to choose depends on the problems you trying to solve.
MP-AES is a new technique for metal analysis. But ICP-AES is the better and it depends on the choice and your problem
