Physical love is more aligned to our primal needs and some disregard it as of lesser value. I strongly disagree, if we are talking about spousal relationships. A physical compatibility is important for marriage to be happy. A strong chemistry can add magic to the relationship.

As far as my perception goes, if the love is spiritual, it will be retained for a longer period of time. Suppose if the love is physical, it will be there only for a shorter period of time. Spiritual love is permanent, where as physical love is temporary.
