Lattice deformation is an important parameter for calculation in strongly correlated systems with electron-phonon interaction (EPI). In Hubbard holstein model used for studying strongly correlated system in presence of EPI has parameter EPI term , w0 term and Hubbard terms. In absence of EPI it is said that lattice deformation is zero.

But what will be the value w0?

For finite w0 i think lattice deformation is non zero in absence of EPI. Is this true? What is the physics behind it?
