It depends on which "journal" you read that. With the current pressure to publish, some of the most reputed journals (NEJM) have published two opposite "results" based in the same materials and methods. I am not saying one of them is a fraud, just that in biology "the cause" often lead to the explanaition. Sciences on the other hand do not explain the reasons but only the mechanism that lead to the observable. I am not going to change the biological sciences, but point them as very intuitive. That's why you have to run double blind tests on a single drug, and sometimes a unexpected finding occur.
