I bought the Qiagen DNeasy Power Soil Pro kit. It was first delivered at the wrong department where it sat a few weeks at room temperature and then was delivered to me. Upon opening, I saw the instruction to store the CD2 solution at 2-8 degrees. Will it still be safe to use?
Hello, we had the same problem with this kit. Before doing the extractions I would like to know if you have done the extraction with the CD2 solution and if so, did you have good results?

On my side, despite the fact that the CD2 solution was not kept at a temperature of 2-8°C, the extractions were successful, no problem to then do a 16 or 18S or ITS pcr for example. However, when using a new kit containing 250 samples, there seems to be a slight decrease in contamination with a lower 260/280 ratio after switching to nanodrop. We used to buy this kit form Qiagen and noticed that this CD2 solution has changed and now needs refrigeration. We bought a new kit woithout noticing this detail and now we don't know whether or not it is safe to use it! I need to run NGS after extraction, so do you think it is worth trying? I wouldn't like to discard the kit if still usable.

Anyone has any updates or new experiences in this matter? Happens to us as well so before using the "warm" CD2 kit we would like to know as much as we can about this. Is too expensive to buy a new one and Qiagen do not sell reagents separately so... complicated! Thanks
