Is it possible to use a boxcar integrator with lock in amplifier for measuring low intensity signal?

boxcar integrator do the process of averaging of the signal at a particular time. if i connect a signal input to boxcar integrator and then send the output to a lock-in amplifier, will it be worked or not?
