I'm wondering it's possible to take AFM measurement of Graphene oxide sheet conjugated with micro-sized Fe3O4 particles.
If possible, which mode (e.g. contact, non-contact, and tapping) is the best choice for the measurement?

In recommendation to Schroder Sir, for, GO sheet with micro-sized Fe3O4 particles, you can use tapping mode for AFM measurement.

the contact mode is definitely not the best way for imaging. But it shouldn't be the problem for both non-contact or tapping mode.
The result depends mostly on the tip parameters if high resolution is crucial and AFM quality if you are worried about sensitivity and stability.
It's worth to try several AFM devices with the different detection scheme to draw a conclusion. Have a look on CYPHER AFM with blueDrive Photothermal Excitation. You can also ask several companies about test measurement on your sample to see the difference.
Usually, the Phase signal or Error signal (ParkAFM, non-contact mode) allow extracting some more details from topography.

I thing, you can use tapping mode if don't have information about particle size of your material.

Thank you very much for your advise. The size of my particles is 2.8 um and a z-scan range is 15 um. I will also consider SEM imaging for my samples. Thank you again!
