Can nitrate be seperated/removed from a stream (waste water from a greenhouse) containing sodium or can sodium be removed from a stream (waste water from a greenhouse) containing nitrate.
The method should be able to process a maximum of 0.75 m3/h
1) Ca-exchanged clay might provide a platform for sodium removal via ion exchange (not touching the hydraulic and regeneration issues).
2) microbial denitrification?
Ca-exhanged clay I'll have to do some research and tests on. Thank you for that suggestion.
Microbial denitrification is not possible, not fast enough.
Other suggestions are always welcome.
One of the processes is the Biological treatment through an Aeration Lagoon with a cell residence time between 20-30 days so that Nitrification-Denitrification takes place. Refer to the link
