How low the pH?

Biologically it would be limited since nitrification is severely affected under pH 6. Denitrification would also be affected significantly.

Check into ion exchange and chemical precipitation. In both cases acidic pH may play a negative role depending on how low it is.

Air stripping, breakpoint chlorination and ion exchange can be used to denitrification from industrial WW. But in case of municipal treatments the biological treatments are severely constrained when 95% removal is taken into account.
