Is it possible to lock the laser to fabry perot interferometer resonance curve negative slope (at half power point) by electrical feedback of transmitted signal to laser drive current source.
It is possible to lock a laser to the side of an etalon resonance using a photodiode to measure the transmitted power.
It is possible to change the laser wavelength by changing the laser pump power.
However, by changing the pump power you mainly change the output power. As a result, the given power transmitted via the FPI is no longer associated with 50% transmission rate. You have coupled two parameters.
Depending on the physical laser design, this concept may still allow for laser locking but with a much lower performance.
Dear Karsten Schuhmann and Vincent Lecoeuche, Thank your for your valuable comments.
@Vincent Lecoeuche: yes I am interested to lock on negative slope. When I look at the error signal, i see random transmission modes,I am not sure how should it look like.I am using LB1005 servo amplifier to optimize the feedback loop. Also can you suggest what should be the bandwidth of feedback signal feeding to laser driver current source ?
