I am having 16x16 AWG and all inputs are applied with different wavelengths. now suppose I want to use it as 8x8 AWG by applying zero input to first 8 ports. now please tell me weather 8x8 AGW will possess the cyclic properties of 16x16 AWG or not??
I am not sure if I understood your question but the AWG inputs can NOT change the device physical characteristics. Even using 8 inputs you still have an 16 x 16 device.
One thing I also want to know that I am applying one particular wavelength at each port( say lembda 1 to lembda 16). now please tell me that these wavelength are consolidated (multiplexed) at one output port or all output ports??
Marcelo is correct-- it remains 16x16 -- which means that if you feed 8 on the "left" side then you get all 8 on all 16 out at "right". That´s how AWG works. Now if you feed 8 on the right side, than you get all 8 on all 16 ports at left. This is how much cyclic you get.
