The test carried out in ELISA for ANA and CLIA for anti-dsDNA showed negative ANA and positive anti dsDNA result. Is there any condition for such scenario?
ELISA is not the gold standard for ANA, and is considered a screening test for ANA. HEP2 cells are a much better test. One of two thing may have happened, either the ANA test was not sensitve enough or not specfic to dsDNA. ELISA does not hit all extractable nuclure antigens. I expect the dsDNA is at a lower level. If it is, then the results are not indicitve of a disiese state. You may want to repeat both test at a latter time with different methods.
To really answer your question, no ANA shoudl be positive if dsDNA is positive. The disrepincy is most likely in the testing method.
