appears that the lignosulfonate is substantially soluble in water, about 600 g per liter, from what I've read. Probably if you solubilize organic solvent, you have to do it in very polar solvents such as MeOH, EtOH, DMF, isopropanol, DMSO .......... I would do tests.
Thanks for your response. I would like to dissolve the mentioned polymer in the aprotic solvents for example, DMF and DMSO. The solubility of the sodium lignosulfonate is significantly dependent on its molecular weight. Our lignosulfonate has a very high MW and its solubility is only 5 g in 100 cc water. In fact, our sample is completely insoluble in DMSO and DMF even at high temperatures.
