I wonder about the biology of mosquitoes in relation to sex, we can differentiate An. gambiae from An. funestus or Culex pipiens from the larval stage but can we also differentiate their sex during these stages?

There is a difference in the size of males and females in pupal stage and in pupal stage males and females can be separated to some extent. However, I am afraid that the same can not be achieved in larval stage
