Why not? They are purely natural processes. Most of natural processes as opposed to artificial ones can be described through Gauss distributuon. Is there opportunity to operate with some years observation data?
@Yuri Shepetov thank you for your response. I think we can calculate the average of previous data and compare it to the present data and by using STD formula, the sigma is caluculated. The sigma will be used for generating gaussian distributed random numbers.
Please check the real data from a reputable website. I don't think wind speed at most sites is Gaussian - this has been verified experimentally. But do the check, eg from NOAA or somewhere.
