Reinforcing index (RI) for a fibre reinforced concrete can be obtained through multiplying volume of fibre in percentage by aspect ratio. Is it possible to calculate RI for hybrid fibre reinforced concrete ?
In this case, I think you have to include the modular ratio of the types of fibres used, e.g., if steel and polypropylene fibres are used, the equivalent reinforcing index may be calculated as follow:
R.I. = Vs Ls/Ds(Es/Es) + VpLp/Dp(Ep/Es)
The subscript s refers to steel and p to polypropylene fibers.
