Is it possible (maybe some publications) to use small NPs (around 2-3 nm) as a detection agent in LFIA?

We are curious, if it is possible to use NPs around 2-3 nm in diameter (maybe plasmonic properties are to small for detection puropouse) if the size isn't a problem we could stabilize them well with glutathione and conjugate to antibodies (due to carboxylic groups on surface).

Insufficient sensitivity may be the issue with small NPs. 40nm is usually the minimum and better sensitivity is achieved with larger particles. However, larger particles can be less stable.
