I have synthesized ZnO nanorods through solvothermal method. But PL spectra is not matching with reported work. The peak which is near 500 nm in reported work, is coming at 433 nm in my sample.
Does the diameter/length of your nanorods match (approx.) the reported ones ? Besides that, are you using the substrate of growth, where you excite the devices, or you transfer them on the different substrate? Regarding the pumping conditions: are you using similar (wavelength-wise, pulse width, repetition rate) laser to excite your devices (or any other method) ?
Anyhow, it's always better to contact the group/author (which work you're trying to repeat) if you want to get a clear answer.
Pl peak or it's better to deal with energy gap for explaining solid properties
your result is OK because the physical as well as mechanical properties of nanosized solids nanorod in your case is a nanosize dependent. Reducing the size in the Nanoscal will increases the energy gap or lower frequency which is your result.
