I'm doing a TGA analysis for pure electrospun PLA, but at the end of the test, there were some residues left and the weight loss did not reach to zero (it reached to 5-7%), is that normal? or is it have to be zero at the end?
P.s temperature range (0-500 C)

I guess the residues were black in color. If it was so, then its just the burnt residual carbon from the PLA. And this carbon can have some weight.. So it is definitely normal.
If you employed nitrogen atmosphere, always will obtain a residue (carbon, this residue will disappear if you between 500 and 700°C start to use air atmosphere.
It depends on the ambient gas, .e.g., i) if Oxygene then it should be zero; ii) if N2 then you might get some residue. But I think 5-7% is still high.

The atmosphere we have is Nitrogen..so what percentage of residue I should expect?
Take the FTIR of the residue. It will give you the composition.
Write down the reaction of PLA + N2+Heat => possible products, to compare with the obtained FTIR.
