I want to perform in-suite oxidative chemical polymerization of Aniline to prepare poly aniline. Should I necessarily vacuum distillate under reduced pressure conditions prior to use? If yes, what is the procedure and experimental test set-up needed for doing vacuum distillation?
You need to distill and use the aniline monomer for polymerization. You can store aniline with nitrogen purging in refrigerator.

It largely depends on how old the bottle is and how long it has been open. If it is a new bottle, I would give it a go and just nitrogen flush it and keep it in the fridge, if it has been open more than 6 months, distil it over a drying agent (and store as above); open longer than a year - get new bottle. If you want the HCl doped version, you can buy the Aniline.HCl monomer to save time.

still I have not purchased aniline . I am planning to purchase new bottle .you have said for a new one it should be flush with nitrogen . how nitrogen flush can be done . could you please elaborate? how much amount of nitrogen should I have to add to how much quantity of aniline. is there any ratio for this addition?

One way is to fit a septum to the bottle, and degas by bubbling nitrogen through it slowly (just remember to pierce the septum with a second needle to vent). If you cannot fit a septum to the bottle then transfer to another container to which you can fit a septum (preferably brown glass, or foil wrapped) and degas in there and store in the fridge until needed. For a brand new bottle you can use as received, then degas for storage.

I will try accordingly yours procedure. finally you are saying that need not required any purification of aniline monomer if the bottle is newly purchased. am I correct? pls correct me if I went wrong?
If you buy suitably high purity, then you can use a new bottle as received, but it should be stored properly thereafter.
Dear Murali, If you buy AR grade aniline, it can be used directly without purification.
