Hi, I am graduated from the M.S. program at National Taiwan University. I do have some experimental experiences in my M.S. training. I am wondering whether it is necessary to publish SCI papers for Ph.D. program applications in the U.S. Or would the publication affect the scholarship of the Ph.D. program?

I am not much aware of the situation at present. 4-5 years back, it was not a mandatory requirement for application. However, since the selection procedure is highly competitive (again this may depend on the potential university and the program/subject domain), good publications and publications in good/reputed journals would significantly support your application.
