In most of the publications, people do vol-sec balance across magnetizing inductance. There is a leakage flux which wont associate with the two inductors. is that flux to be balanced? can we apply vol-sec balance across leakage flux? if possible please provide some references also.

When the total inductance is measured from one side in a coupled inductor, it includes the leakage as well as the mutual inductance. The leakage is modeled as a series element. Hence, whenever the volt-sec balance is done practically across the winding, it is applicable to both. Best example is a flyback transformer in literature. With regard to nature of flux, there is no difference mathematically between the two.
