I am going to start my immunohistochemistry on monday and I was planning to make the PBS, 5% BSA in PBS, DAB, and ImmPRESS reagent on friday. Is it a good idea to make it before hand? or are the better freshly made?
PBS is nice and stable, so you can make that now and keep it for some time. 5% BSA in PBS is also something that you can keep for quite while in the refrigerator without any problems. The DAB solution should be made fresh each time. Dab is pretty reactive and the solution is not good for the long term. The immPRESS reagent is based on a secondary antibody and also should be made fresh.
This always depends on the experiment and has to be tested individually but I would prepare it freshly to be on the safe side, especially if you perform the experiment the first time. If you have to perform this experiment more often you could run it now in parallel with fresh buffers and buffers from Friday and then compare both. If there is no difference, then you can prepare buffers on Friday the next time.

I've always used fresh buffers, however, the answers you get, I think it very correctly written to large scientific experience of my colleagues and I will use in their future work!
