Nostradamus certainly engaged in many occult practices that stand directly opposed to core Christian teachings. If one defines heresy in such a way as to include engagement in practices standing directly opposed to core Christian teachings, then it is fair. If one defines heresy differently, then it is unfair.
Nostradamus was not in fact a heretic, neither astrology nor prophesy was prohibited by the 16th century Catholic Church and he never challenged the tenets of the faith. He did fear the inquisition but that could be a manifestation of paranoia which can be detected also in his prophesies.
The only time Nostradamus got into any trouble with the Crruch was related to a violation of publishing laws over which they had control. It was not the content of the work that offended but the failure to seek permission to publish.
Most of the supposed prohesises of Nostradamus are in fact vague ramblings that are far from unique in human affairs. The prohesies 'fit' later events by skilfull manipulation of what he actually said to match the later facts. This is of course the hallmark of all prophesies most of which have multiple interpretations.
