Hello, I have some questions about

My research design is 2 * 2 ANOVA,

>> which IV1(gender: male/female) * IV2 (target sex: men/women)

DV: WHR

Also, I have conduct 2 * 2 MANOVA,

>> which IV1 (gender: male/female) * IV2 (target sex: men/women)

DV: proportioned body ratio values 1, 2, 3, 4. In short, br_1, br_2, br_3, br_4.

Is it really possible "planned contrast" when each factor's level is only "two"?

I already know it doesn't need to post hoc when the level is only two.

I conducted a 'univariate test' and 'Contrast' between two gender groups after split files.

My expectation is that the "ANOVA" table results and the "univariate test" on two-way ANOVA will be the same but it was different.

So I confuse whether enough just to do estimated marginal mean and pairwise comparison or have to conduct planned contrast when factor level is only two.
