Dear colleagues
I was offered to write a chapter in a book for IntechOpen. Is it worth to publish them?
I am usually suspicious of such invitations. Therefore, I would appreciate your opinions in this regard and any past experiences of yours with this publisher.
Hi, Mohammad. With respect to the IntechOpen publishing house, there are already several discussions and analyzes in this respect in RG. Here the important thing is that you find out very well and are convinced of the decision you can make. Just tell you that IntechOpen is mentioned both in Clarivate Analytics in your Book Citation Index and at the same time in the Bell list of predatory companies. Do not forget that we are facing a company that wants to make a profit for a business. I suggest you review the previous discussions.

Dear Mohammad,
I found them legitimate, punctual, and very attentive to details. Never seemed
predatory. Their Doi Checked out. They moved their address to England last year which I think hurt them.
Their reviews is very detailed and their work is very professional. Especially their deadlines.

It seems doubtful when a publisher finds you. If I had an idea of writing a book, I would find a publisher myself. I would make a list of publishers then compare them and chose the one which is best for me

I was offered to publish a chapter in a book with them too. So, I looked at the Beall's List of Predatory Journals and they appear there; the information relative to them is the following "InTechOpen – Mirror site (note: on 13 May 2016 their entire journal collection have been transferred to SAGE. Any newer issues of these journals should not be considered predatory. InTechOpen now only publishes books. They are still considered to be predatory.)"

I contributed to an InTech book. The book was edited by an expert in the field and my chapters were peer-reviewed. The comments I received from the reviewers were helpful. I have received favorable feedback on the chapters. The other contributions to the volume were good. Perhaps it is good to view this as a self-published book, there may be a place for such books to bring forth new ideas. We all know that the high level mainstream journals are fraught with politics. I have written a number of book chapters, the InTech book I contributed to is of the same caliber as the other books from more mainstream publishers. Just like any other publisher, the quality of the book depends on the authors. Feel free to read my chapters and decide for yourself.
