InCl2 is unstable. It can be prepared as reported in the following signalled references. Decomposes in water to InCl3 and In. It also decomposes below melting point (235 °C), seemingly to InCl3 and InCl. Elemental In dissolves (reactively) in hot (to boiling) hydrochloric acid.
