in all cultures and languages heart is used as a role player for taking decisions and focused as a place of thoughts implementation since it has will power and passion thus I came to a conclusion that it has ability to think and take decision and also it can either accept instructions from brain or reject and do its own. kindly express your points of views on this regards.
Heart is just a pumping machine which carries a blood and supply it. Nothing more nothing less. Although, it has milliom of synapses which connects from the brain sympathetic and presympathetic nervous system, that implies that when ever we feel deep emotions like sad, fear etc it accelerate the activity due to feed back machine fight or flight in situation. It may feel a illusion of a sense and feelings in heart but these orgin in brain only.
Yes heart has nerves capable of intellectual abilities and cognitive processes. In fact, In Islam, it is mentioned in the Holy Quran that the heart is the seat of reason and one responsible for making decisions.
