Some researcher add transliteration of foreign words and sentences which take to much space in thesis writing. Is transliteration really necessary ?

Is it necessary to use statistical measures in building a comparable corpus ?

I am currently building a comparable corpus of English and Arabic fiction with total size of 2 millions. I am building them using the same sampling frame.
