"Language and grammar are two different identical things. the first one is for communication for common man and other is for controlling the feelings of common man. To control and keep away common man from poetry, the landlords, bourgeois and a host of others created grammar for language. Thus their purpose is to take language of common away from the common people and rub the language of lords on the heads of common man." This is the essence of the debate which I had with my friends working in different universities. There is a language movement in India where the language of people should be the language of literature. Free Verse, Prose poetry and many other names are also emerged out of this movement. Would you feel that the grammar is essential for writing poetry?
