Is distance learning a substitute for face-to-face training?
Distance training using a computer and the Internet is expanding. Can this distance training be adapted for all people? Is it effective by comparison with the presential training?
The e-learning/teaching has a special sense of remotely learning environments. The interaction of student and teacher is reduced by modern technology and present the far-off set institute just at a distance of your notebook screen (laptop etc).
Nowadays, the e-learning practices are being adopted and practised, because, this transformation of knowledge break the geographical barriers, relatively reduce the cost of travelling, accommodation, food, and more importantly save the time of a researcher.
Distance learning is very convenient for people who both study and dance. But it can not replace the training entirely face to face. Especially in engineering science technologies.

To some extent it is good, also may prove more advantageous, but can't substitute face-to-face training. Many practical/ laboratory works may not be easily feasible through it.
Nothing can replace teaching . Distance learning is ideal for older students who are independent and want to upgrade else a classroom is best . At my age too I would like to sit in a class :)
No. Distance learning should not be a substitute but a complement to face to face lecture. Excellent classes are those that perfectly blend these two approaches in their right quotas in line with the distinctive conditions of learners.
Those fields requiring practical work skills should not be be taught online (Distant learning) how ever those fields that belong to knowledge and competency assessment have many advantages in online or distant learning like time, space and financial and job issues
It really depends on situation. If you are in a war zone, then distant learning may be most effective. If you are involved in experimental work, then it may not be effective.
Is distance learning a substitute for face-to-face training?
Distance learning can substitute face-to-face training when the former is the best alternative after considering all the factors including the lowest Total Cost of Ownership, travel restriction, inconvenient to travel etc.
However, based on personal experience, face to face training have its own value over distance learning which includes learning / training require collaboration & interaction, trust relationship / rapport building, in situ experimentation, unavailability of lab facilities at remote site etc.

I agree with you, E-learning is a complement of education. Nothing can replace face-t-face teaching.
Distance Learning is not a substitute to Brick-and-mortar classroom or face-to-face teaching. Distance Learning is for students with extra responsibilities (Work and family) couple with tedious academic responsibilities. However, distance learning can be face-2-face in a situation where lectures are given synchronously online.
It is mainly a matter of costs; e-learning-methodology can open gates for all who are willing to learn. However, we will always need some form of assembly pedagogics; this is our nature as humans.
With distance learning, you are faced with the credibility of student responses-I have done this for organisations and found that many students cut corners, or try to. It also puts emphasis on short-term results.
In my opinion, no distance teaching will bring as much benefit as active individual learning with the help of good books. Only books can make you actively think and understand the text you read. Yes, the Internet is necessary, however, only to extract information. However, it would be better to understand this information without a computer, best for walking by nature. True knowledge can only be acquired yourself from the solution of a large number of examples and tasks yourself. One has to understand one thing: now we live in an era of total degradation, when education worldwide drops sharply. And in these conditions only motivated individual self-education can save you, that is:
1. Extract information from the Internet
2. Read good tutorials outside the computer
3. Solve large numbers of examples and tasks outside the computer
4. Comprehension of the information outside the computer, it is better on the nature without extraneous noise
In my understanding, only active self-education can bring good and sustainable knowledge.
