DRM can be an effective tool for copyright enforcement but it has some cons. Generally, DRM limits copying, sharing, and modifying digital content, which helps to prevent unauthorized use and preserve the copyright on the creator/author. It also allows the creator comtrol how and when the work is assessed and used. So yes, it can definitely serves as a deterrent and help enforce copyright. However, as part of the cons, the restrictions of DRM may prevent legitimate uses of content and limit the audience reach.
Thank you Daphne for your contributions, yes l also noticed that it has its cons especially in this digital era where for example in the music industry.in case of Zimbabwe a lot of infringments is taking place on these platforms and cotrolling such is proving to be a challenge as using DRM technologies or accessing them alone proves to be another challenge.
Charity JESCA Poseni You are welcome! I can relate because infringements are becoming a lot especially with the nuances of technologies in the digital age. This is a worthy area of research.
