I have serum samples and want to use ICP-MS to measure few elements like Cu, Zn, Fe , Se. I have procured Multi-element standard from Sigma and also Single element standard for one element. I have Gallium as well to use as INternal Standard. Please suggest if that is sufficient to do an ICP-MS experiment or do i need some extra reagents (I do have HNO3).
The technical assistant asked to bring CRM (certifed reference material) as well and told that without CRM, you can't publish your data. Please suggest.
Hi Sandeep, Yes you need the CRM, but if the Multi-element standard from Sigma is a CRM, as I believe it is, you can use it as far as it contains all the elements you want to detect.
CRMs are used to confirm method trueness as apart of your method accuracy.
In your method you must be analyzing serum CRM by the same way of the serum samples.
