Is conductivity directly proportional to temperature and why is thermal conductivity inversely proportional to temperature?
The question needs clarification:
1.1. What substances are we talking about - dielectrics, conductors or metals?
1.2. What heat carriers are we talking about - electrons, phonons, or something else?
1.3. In crystalline metals, lattice thermal conductivity is inversely proportional to temperature due to the scattering of phonons by each other.
Dr G. Ya. Khadzhai thank you for your contribution to the discussion
