I feel top-level classification around the root of the tree of life highly controversial, with taxonomists biased towards their own specialties. For example, archebacteriologist Woese elevated rank of archebacteria to top level "Domain" while protozoologist Cavalier-Smith elevated protozoans to two kingdoms (Chromista and Protozoa).
