A preliminary study has found correlations between blood type and COVID-19. Thus people with type A blood might be more at risk than those with other blood types . Is there any scientific research to confirm this?

Study says your blood type could make you more susceptible to coronavirus
"New research shows your blood type may make you more susceptible to catching coronavirus. The study published in Wuhan, China compared blood types in 2,173 people in Wuhan and Shenzhen with COVID-19 to more than 3,600 healthy people in the same areas.
It showed people with type A blood are more likely to catch the virus and die from it. People with type O blood may be less likely to get COVID-19."
People with blood group A have a significantly higher risk for acquiring COVID-19 compared with non-A blood groups, whereas blood group O has a significantly lower risk for the infection compared with non-O blood groups.

The lower susceptibility of blood group O and higher susceptibility of blood group A for COVID-19 could be linked to the presence of natural anti-blood group antibodies, particularly anti-A antibody, in the blood.
