I have read tons of Systematic Literature Reviews (SLR) and some of them report bibliometric data (such as year of publication, country of affiliation, etc) and others simply ignore that. My question is: aside from obvious peculiarities of Journals' editorial policies, how relevant is bibliometric data to a SLR? More specifically, what (data) should be reported and what can be considered "useless" or irrelevant?

Bibliometrics and scientometric methods are included in the SLR as a way of conducting this type of research, so this explains why it is relevant an desired that it will be included in this area of research.

thank you for your response. What drives my curiosity on the issue is the criticism received by fellow reseachers from reviewers when bibliometric data is reported in articles. Many have received reviews stating that this type of data is irrelevant and is not actually useful for the advancement of the research field.

thank you for your ellaborate response. It was indeed helpful. As I stated previously, many colleagues have received reviews that "undermined" the importance of bibliometric data and therefore, I got curious to know what the research community was thinking of this type of data in SLR.
In my opinion, there is no need to include bibliometric data in the Systematic Literature Review of a research paper.
