In France, Attalus sericans seems to be only known in Corsica and still not actually recorded in the French mainland. Its occurrence at Espira-de-l'Agly should be of great interest, this species being also present in Spain.

Gianfranco Liberti (Milan, Italy) determined a male from the attached photo. I collected both males and females off Salix growing by the river l'Agly.

I have a bad knowledge of the Cantharidae but if Liberti identify it, there are probably no doubt. A notable record. Best wishes.

Up to there failed to find new ones to sample in order to confirm this. The observation of a Malachiid larva in recent days makes me hoping I'll be able to retrieve them this spring, so cross fingers...
