We are preparing case studies, from a sort of "socio-technological" perspective, of the development of urban water services in countries around the world. The case studies usually divide into three parts: "Early development of water services to about 1900", "development of industrial water services" and finally, "disaggregating industrial water services for hydrosecurity".
Purnima -- I was just talking with some today about industrial water sustainability programmes in the Dairy and Beer sectors -- some good examples in the UK and the US. What sorts of work are you interested in particularly?
It a project is very interesting. We could participate with a case study about Mexico City and Metropolitan region. I suppose it is an interdisciplinary project. would be important to have more information on this.
Miguel -- it would be fantastic to develop a case study of Mexico City -- as I understand it El D.F. has very significant problems with its water supply and with wastewater management. Would be happy to talk about it further with you.
Fatma -- water treatment is one element of the bigger "water services" picture, which also includes organization of sufficient water supply, sewerage and surface water management. It turns out that each city organizes these things somewhat differently, reflecting local physical conditions and historical experience.
I will put a working paper on "how to prepare a urban hydrosocial case study" up on RG later this morning so that you can read more if you want to.
I proposed myself and the University of Naples, Italy for cooperate in the case studies collection, are you interested in? Let me know more about your project please
