Until now we have investigated the arm proprioceptive control in volleyball players - female, but we intend to develop our researches in enrolled patients in rehabilitation programs ( i.e. post stroke ).
I am currently studying kinesthesia and proprioception in children for my doctorate at the University of Vienna, Austria, Psychology Department, SCAN Unit. I am using a set of measurements that partially stem from the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT, Ayres, 1989). Partially we developed them together with the Multimedia and Virtual Reality Department of the Technical University, Vienna.
In my study, I am comparing typical children, dyspraxic children ("clumsy" children, diagnosis "developmental coordination disorder"), and autistic children. The latter is my group of interest, the other two are comparison groups.
I am always open for cooperation, a joint project, or just sharing ideas.
Thank you very much for your very prompt response. I'm very glad for your consent, especially because one of my colleagues is concern in rehabilitation of children with mental and neural-locomotive’s disabilities. We have conceived a device that measures somesthetic and kinesthetic sense, connected by a NI transducer to a computer and managed by a particularly software developed by us for this investigation, in LabView. For now, that's all. I will come back with details. It's Christmas Eve, so …. Merry Christmas! All my best, Nicolae
Dear Nicolae, you can ask Mara Fabri Associate Professor Università Politecnica delle Marche Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicinehttps://www.researchgate.net/profile/Mara_Fabri
It is already done in prototype phase. The movement sensor (for instant only for arms/hands - staying or sitting as basic position) is coupled through a NI transducer to the computer. As I said, I will be back after the winter holidays. Yours, Nicolae
