It's been months now that I have been experiencing troubleshooting when integrating a citation in my word document. I have tried so many things already suggested on Zotero forums, exchanged with the Zotero team. It just does not seem to go away.
Whenever I have more than one or two files opened where there are zotero bibliographic citations, you can bet adding a new one will just shut down and restart word.
This is particularly frustrating for writing, right?
It started after an update, i tried going back to older versions but it just wont help. I tried on another computer, with a different version of word, it's the same. I have 3436 items, is it somehow too much??
is anyone having the same kind of trouble?

Not actually the answer to your question, but a suggestion. I found Mendeley so far the best and free reference manager and PDF reaader. Its very easy and the sync and cloud functions are very nice and you can use it cross platform on PC, tab or android. You can give it a try.
Not having problem as asked but i understand that it must be frustrating. FYI i learnt using the zotero from the course you taught on Coursera.org

And despite this issue, I still recommend it :)) I have been considering other options but to me zotero remains the best alternative because it's open access, you can easily modify and create your own styles but there are also lots of standardized styles as well, you can share bibliographies with colleagues, easily save search results/organize references, and access pdf !
