How can I add the death elements to my optimization function?
I need to minimize a function, where I need to subtract the results at a keypoint with the coordinates of the keypoint. The latter is already defined but how can I define the result at this specific keypoint?

If you are using Ansys , GUI wont be able to do it. you can only do with newton raphson solver. You can select analysis type to transient and type NROPT,FULL into the commmand line.

-To reach steady state, an initial iteration value needs to be specified. The solver then takes all the elements to steady state complying with the physics of the problem. Once steady state is reached, killing elements is like wear and tear.
